Cary firefighters and animal control crews hoisted a fawn from a North Carolina storm drain after the baby deer spent several days trapped inside. Firefighters from the Cary Fire Department joined Cary Animal Control, Wake County Animal Control, and Town of Cary Public Works personnel for the rescue. UPI reported that the crews found the young deer stuck below street level and moved as a single team to get it out. The Cary Fire Department said the fawn is believed to have been trapped in the drain for several days before responders arrived. That detail alone explains the urgency.
