New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani condemned the shooting of a man by ICE agents in the Bronx as "an outrage" and called for the agency's withdrawal from the city. The man, identified by authorities as 28-year-old Oscar Belgal, was wounded after an ICE agent discharged a weapon into the man's vehicle, which also had a 5-year-old sitting in the backseat, city officials said. The 5-year-old was not injured and the man was transported to hospital before being taken into ICE custody. Mamdani said he had spoken to President Donald Trump and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin to negotiate the man's release, but "those negotiations were unsuccessful."
