A mother visiting Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, pinned a beached shark between her legs and yanked a fishing hook from its mouth with pliers, a gutsy act caught on video that drew cheers from a crowd of Fourth of July beachgoers. The woman, whose name has not been publicly identified, was fishing with her family along the Cape Hatteras shoreline when the shark took their bait and dragged their line roughly 200 yards down the beach. Rather than cut the line and walk away, she waded in, straddled the thrashing animal, and went to work freeing it bare-handed before using pliers to extract the hook and wire from its mouth.
