President Trump drew cheers and local support during his weekend visit to Doonbeg, Ireland, for the Irish Open, but a years-long planning fight over tiny protected snails continues to block expansion of his golf resort. Trump spent much of Saturday and Sunday at Trump International Golf Links, the resort his organization purchased in 2014 when the property was financially struggling. The course, stretching 400 acres along 1.5 miles of beach on County Clare's Atlantic coast, hosted the Irish Open this year, and the golf crowd cheered as the president walked out to take in the tournament.
