The new guidance provides a framework for employers to contribute up to $2,500 annually to employees’ ‘Trump Accounts’ for their children.
Proposed guidance from the Treasury Department clarifies how employer and employee contributions to the new accounts would work.
Most young children should have a Trump account. But that doesn’t mean families should prioritize saving in them.
American families with children born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028, can claim a $1,000 Trump account, according to the White House. They can add up to $5,000 to the account.
“The amount of grift from this administration is off the charts,” one parent said of their hesitancy.
