Despite earlier compliance with a judge’s order to reinstate journalists to the White House press pool, MS NOW and CNN reporters were blocked from covering an event surrounding Trump’s state dinner with Chinese president Xi Jinping. We are learning more about President Donald Trump's ban on CNN, MS NOW and Politico from reporting at the White House. On Thursday, a federal judge ordered the administration to restore access to the outlets. U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly issued a temporary restraining order Thursday blocking the ban and ordering White House officials to "immediately return, reinstate, and restore" the outlets' hard-pass press credentials while their legal battle continues. Despite the order and the return of these reporters to the White House, according to CNN, some of their journalists were turned away when attempting to cover the ongoing state dinner that Trump is hosting in Washington, D.C.
Amid President Trump's media ban, reporters from MS NOW, CNN and Politico have had their access restored to the White House. Former White House Press Secretary and Host of MS NOW's "The Briefing" Jen Psaki joins Katy Tur to share her thoughts on the ban.
The school had previously been blocked from operating in Oklahoma.
