Some residents of Troy, New York, have privacy concerns about the city’s use of automated license plate readers, which are known as Flock cameras or LPRs. The mayor and police chief say the technology has helped reduce crime and no data is shared. NewsNation’s Rich McHugh reports on the debate. Flock cameras store data on a cloud-based server for a period of time, where it can be accessed by other police departments if the city running the cameras allows.
