The Supreme Court's decision Thursday appears to be the end of the push to use a 2025 redistricting map that favored Republicans in the midterm elections.
The ruling deferred to Missouri’s state Supreme Court, which had invalidated G.O.P.-friendly district lines, saying voters must first have an opportunity to approve the map in a statewide referendum.
"The Show Me State will not be run into the ground like the communists running NYC on my watch," Secretary of State Denny Hoskins said on social media following the court's order.
