Five years after becoming the first Southern state to legalize possession of marijuana, Virginia has approved a legal way to sell it to recreational users, starting in July 2027. On the other hand, Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger signed legislation in May banning the sale and manufacture of certain assault weapons.
