In an elaborate scheme, federal prosecutors say 35-year-old Daejon Labrayae Love scammed women by pretending to be an NFL player for the 49ers. Love and his alleged co-conspirator, 18-year-old Taylor Jamie Chan, have been charged with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud, according to investigators. Love appeared in court in Boise, Idaho, on August 27, and is being transferred to Oregon for further hearings. Chan has elected to have a preliminary hearing in Oregon.

Two men are facing federal conspiracy and wire fraud charges after allegedly engaging in a scheme where one of them posed as a wealthy NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers in order to bilk several women out of more than $1 million with fake investment opportunities. Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, were arrested in Boise, Idaho on Monday for their alleged participation in the scheme, which authorities said began in February 2022 and continued up until the day the two were arrested.
