Rep. Chris Pappas won New Hampshire’s Democratic Senate primary on Tuesday, advancing to the November general election in a race that could help determine control of the Senate. Pappas will face former Republican Sen. John E. Sununu. Chris Hayes reports.
LiveNOW is learning more this Tuesday as former Sen. John E. Sununu won the GOP Senate nomination in New Hampshire. Political analysts are saying that this race has the potential to determine if Republicans keep control of the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections. Sununu will now face off in the general election against four-term Rep. Chris Pappas who won the Democratic nomination in the state.
The incumbent is seeking a second term just two years after she won the first.
The president endorsed Sununu, whose brother is former New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, in February, touting him as an "American First patriot" and as the candidate with the strongest backing among conservative leaders in the state.
The general election race to replace Jeanne Shaheen, a Democrat, could help determine control of the U.S. Senate.
