The Kennedy Center began dismantling a large stick figure sculpture on its grounds today. The sculpture called “Blue” was created by artist Joel Shapiro and installed outside the center in 2019. A Kennedy Center spokesperson said in a statement to CNN that the venue requested the “deinstallation,” which the person described as “common practice.” It comes as President Donald Trump has worked to reshape the performing arts institution.
