A federal judge ruled on Monday that California cannot enforce a law banning federal agents from wearing masks during immigration enforcement operations, but it can require them to show identification when performing their duties. U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder found that the “No Secret Police Act” signed into law by California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) last fall likely violates the Supremacy Clause because it “unlawfully discriminates against federal officers” by not applying equally to all law enforcement officers on the state level.
