The House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing Tuesday morning on the Southern Poverty Law Center, months after the Trump administration accused the civil rights group of funneling money to extremist groups. The SPLC announced in April that it was under investigation by the Justice Department and in May pleaded not guilty to using a now-defunct informant program to pay hate groups such as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). The center at the time called the indictment the “latest manifestation of a top-down, retributive campaign” and asked a judge to toss the case. The hearing, according to the advisory, will look into whether the nonprofit “artificially elevated the domestic extremist threat and misleading its donors.” #housejudiciary…
First lady Melania Trump on Tuesday morning will unveil the winners of the Trump administration's first artificial intelligence (AI) competition for students at a White House ceremony. The challenge was first announced last August, when the first lady urged kids across the country to “unleash their imagination and showcase the spirit of American innovation” through the use of AI. It was open to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. President Trump also signed an executive order last year aimed at incorporating AI into classrooms. #melaniatrump #donaldtrump #ai
