Meta has agreed to a settlement of up to $18 billion to resolve lawsuits across the U.S. that alleged that Facebook and Instagram were designed to addict children. In addition to the agreed payments, Meta must implement sweeping product changes for users under 18, including a mandatory two-hour daily time limit, overnight access blocks and restricted notifications during school hours.
