Sixty-seven percent favor state and local officials cooperating with federal authorities to deport criminal illegal immigrants, including 64 percent of independents. Similarly, 67 percent believe local jails should turn over criminal illegal immigrants to federal authorities for deportation, with support from 62 percent of independents and 50 percent of Democrats. The polling also reveals that 60 percent view Democrats as actively encouraging resistance to ICE officers performing their duties to protect public safety.
