Carley Shimkus, the 39-year-old Fox & Friends First co-host, and her husband Peter Buchignani have welcomed their second baby boy, with colleagues breaking the happy news on-air Monday. Fox News correspondent Ashley Strohmier made the announcement during Monday's broadcast, confirming that Shimkus and Buchignani's newborn son is named Harrison. The baby joins his older brother, Brock, who was born in January 2023. Strohmier shared the update with viewers and offered warm words for the growing family, as The U.S. Sun reported : "We are so happy to report both mom and baby are doing great." She added that the two brothers bear a strong resemblance. "Those two look so similar, Brock and Harrison. They're so precious," Strohmier said. Shimkus announced the pregnancy in March and predicted another boy Shimkus broke the pregnancy news on-air back in March alongside her Fox colleagues. She told viewers the baby was due at the end of July and revealed she was expecting another boy. She was candid about the moment she learned the baby's gender: "Before I got pregnant, I was thinking...wouldn't it be nice to have like a sweet little girl who likes to color? But then when I got the news that I was, I just knew I was having another boy. And I knew this baby is just such a blessing from God. And I'm so excited to have a second child." Shimkus also expressed hope for her sons' bond. "I pray that they're going to be the best of friends throughout their whole entire life," she said at the time. Kilmeade raises the big question: city life or the suburbs? Fox commentator Brian Kilmeade used Monday's broadcast to tease Shimkus about a decision many young families in New York City face, whether to stay or head for the suburbs. Shimkus currently lives in the city but has openly considered a move. Kilmeade turned to fellow host Steve Doocy on-air and put it bluntly: "The big decision is, Steve, does Carley go to New Jersey or Long Island? Because she's got to get out of the city." New Jersey holds personal significance for the couple. Shimkus and Buchignani started dating in 2013 and married roughly two years later in an intimate ceremony there. But Long Island is also in the mix, Shimkus has said a close friend had been sending her property listings in Massapequa. A family that started with a simple welcome to the world When Brock arrived in January 2023, the couple released a statement that captured the feeling most new parents know well: "Welcome to the world, sweet Brock. You have unlocked a place in our hearts we didn't even know we had." Now that place has grown by one more. No details about Harrison's exact birth date or weight have been shared publicly, but Strohmier confirmed both mother and baby are healthy. Good news still travels, especially when it arrives on live television, announced by friends who are genuinely happy to share it.
