Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz will announce new efforts Monday aimed at strengthening health care price transparency. The health officials will be joined by newly confirmed Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling, Deputy Treasury Secretary Francis Brooke and Federal Trade Commission Chair Andrew Ferguson. Officials are expected to detail the Trump administration's goals to help consumers better understand and anticipate their health care costs. The changes are also aimed at giving employers, researchers and technology developers more consistent and usable pricing data, according to an advisory.
