A 51-year-old British mother claims she snapped a photograph of a large black panther just feet from her front door, the third big-cat sighting in the region in barely a month. Clare Hodges was taking out her bins on the evening of August 18 in the Ryehill area of Northampton, a mid-sized city about 70 miles northwest of London, when she heard a noise behind her. She had her phone camera ready, neighbors had been leaving raw lamb in the street for a local fox, and Hodges had been trying for days to photograph the animal. She turned, expecting the fox, and instead captured an image of something far larger.
