California Gov. Gavin Newsom is brushing aside a federal investigation into his travel expenses, saying the investigation is politically motivated. Federal subpoenas were reportedly issued earlier in September seeking years of records regarding Newsom’s travel. It will be up to a grand jury to decide whether charges should be brought.
