Mexican special forces captured a senior leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel accused of ordering the contract killing of 23-year-old beauty influencer Valeria Márquez, shot dead inside her own salon while thousands watched on TikTok. Ramon Nagel Alvarez Ayala, known by the alias "El R1," was taken into custody during a raid that left one member of his security team dead. Federal security secretary Omar Garcia Harfuch identified Ayala as a top figure in the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion, or CJNG, one of Mexico's most powerful criminal organizations.
