The Florida bar said that it had “erroneously” made that assertion, disclosed in a letter last month, and that no investigation into Ms. Halligan was pending.
A spokesperson said the bar’s counsel “erroneously” stated there was a “pending investigation”; instead, a complaint against Halligan remains at a preliminary stage.
Halligan was Trump's choice to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. She received the post after Trump quarreled with the previously officeholder over bringing charges against his political opponents.
