Vice President Vance, who was tapped by President Trump as the “fraud czar” earlier this year, will giver remarks Wednesday afternoon from Wisconsin on federal efforts to combat fraud. The Trump administration has primarily targeted alleged fraud in states’ social service programs as well as among health professionals.
The district contains parts of northern Las Vegas and vast portions of rural land including Death Valley. U.S. Rep. Steven Horsford, D-Nevada, is seeking his fifth consecutive term in the district after being elected in 2018. He previously represented the district from 2013 to 2015, before losing the seat to Republican Cresent Hardy.
President Donald Trump established the White House’s Fraud Task Force on March 16, with Vice President JD Vance set to lead the group. Leaders in the healthcare industry called on the Trump administration to exercise caution as it goes after fraud.
