The Michigan Democratic Senate primary race is heating up as Abdul El-Sayed rallied across the state over the weekend and was backed by key progressive figures, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). The race between El-Sayed and Stevens has morphed into a proxy war between the progressive and centrist factions of the Democratic Party. Stevens, meanwhile, has the support of retiring Sen.
