Global temperatures are once again reaching new records as potentially historic El Niño conditions continue to unfold, according to a study released Tuesday.
And the next year or so looks set to turn the dial up on global warmth even further, as some forecasts predict a brewing El Niño will reach super strength.
A potentially strong El Niño weather pattern will likely emerge this summer and persist through the rest of the year. The hottest years on record generally occur in years when El Niño is active.
