Mel Gibson says his two-part Resurrection sequel will explore gaps left by the Gospels while staying within orthodox Christian teaching and aiming to inspire audiences. The Oscar-winning director plans to move beyond the earthly account of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection. His films will also enter supernatural realms tied to creation, the fall of the angels and Sheol.
