That’s because a key figure in the investigation, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, is running for election in November. He was appointed to the job in February by Gov. Ron DeSantis. It’s unfair to voters to have to evaluate Uthmeier for the top law enforcement job in the state without knowing what the grand jury has uncovered.
