Shay Taylor-Allen learned last week that she had matched with her first-choice residency pick, Yale School of Medicine — the very same hospital where was born and later worked as a janitor.
“I still can’t believe it,” said Shay Taylor-Allen, who landed a residency at Yale New Haven Hospital, where she was born and spent most of her adult life on the cleaning staff.
Shay Taylor-Allen will be one of Yale School of Medicine's newest residents.
