A protestor interrupted a news conference held Thursday, July 23, by Madison, Wisconsin, officials about the police shooting death of Corey Ruiz, a homeless resident of city. Madison Police Chief John Patterson stepped away from the microphone when a protester began shouting. Carlos Dixon, an activist running for Wisconsin governor as a write-in independent candidate, took the chief's spot at the lectern. Ruiz was shot and killed Wednesday.
