Former CNN anchor Jim Acosta went on air before President Trump's primetime address on election security and urged every major television network to refuse to carry it live. Most of them did exactly that. Appearing on "The Joy Reid Show" ahead of Trump's Thursday speech from the East Room of the White House, Acosta declared that any network airing the address without real-time fact-checkers would be reckless. Fox News Digital reported that ABC, NBC, and CNN all declined to carry the speech live. CBS News joined minutes after Trump began and cut away shortly after he criticized the networks that refused.
