A 59-year-old Provo fire captain, his wife, and their three sons were swept to their deaths by a flash flood in a Utah canyon last Friday, leaving their daughter as the family's sole survivor because she stayed home. Wayne County deputies received a call Friday evening after a young male's body was found in a flood wash near Sunglow Campground, a steep box canyon at 7,200 feet elevation near Bicknell in southern Utah. By nightfall, search teams had located three members of the Long family, Captain Spencer Long, 59, and two of his sons. Crews recovered the remaining two bodies Saturday morning.
