King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who captivated world leaders and held the Guinness World Record as the youngest reigning monarch, has died after battling an undisclosed illness, leaving a kingdom of more than two million people to mourn. Uganda's prime minister, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announced the king's death in a post on X, saying Oyo died at approximately 10 p.m. local time Thursday. Few outside the royal inner circle knew the 34-year-old ruler had been critically ill.
