The president praised Letlow as a “Highly Respected America First Congresswoman” in a post on Truth Social.
Early voting began on Friday, with the runoff set for June 27th. The general election is expected to favor the Republican.
He was defeated in the Republican primary in Louisiana on Saturday. Representative Julia Letlow and State Treasurer John Fleming are now in a runoff for the party’s nomination.
Letlow, who was endorsed by Trump, will face state Treasurer John Fleming.
Earlier in the day, Trump posted a message encouraging supporters to back Letlow and vote Cassidy out of office.
Letlow is running against Sen. Bill Cassidy, R-La., and Louisiana state Treasurer John Fleming. Cassidy was one of several Republican senators who voted to impeach Trump in his second trial after Jan. 6.
