Rob Reiner, the director and actor killed alongside his wife last December, has been awarded a posthumous Emmy for his guest turn on FX's "The Bear", a bittersweet honor that arrived amid his son's ongoing murder trial. The Television Academy gave Reiner the outstanding guest actor in a comedy series award at Emmy Awards Night 2 on Saturday, making it his first acting Emmy since 1978 and only the second posthumous Emmy for an on-camera performance in more than three decades. Wendi McLendon-Covey accepted the trophy on Reiner's behalf. The audience at the ceremony rose for a standing ovation that Variety reported lasted a full minute.
