Today is National Voter Registration Day, and MS NOW is teaming up with the Voto Latino Foundation for a flagship event at the University of Texas at Austin. At the event, students will have the opportunity to register to vote, learn about civic participation, explore volunteer opportunities and share their thoughts on the importance of voting. The campus has more than 50,000 students, with more than 25% identifying as Hispanic. Voto Latino Foundation President and Co-Founder María Teresa Kumar joins Morning Joe to discuss the event and why young Latino voters are important to the midterm elections.
