Chicago Cubs third baseman Alex Bregman was rushed to a Cincinnati hospital after a ricocheting foul ball struck him in the face during Sunday's game, raising urgent questions about his availability with the playoffs days away. Bregman was standing near the on-deck circle in the top of the fourth inning when teammate Michael Busch checked his swing on a 1-2 pitch from Reds right-hander Luis Mey. The ball shot off the bat and caught Bregman squarely in the left cheekbone, just below his eye. He dropped to the ground immediately, clutching his face.
