A house cat named Ginge vanished from his owner's home in Sunderland, England, and was found almost a year later living among a feral colony 86 miles away in Leeds, rescued only because a volunteer noticed he was too friendly to be a stray. Lucy Roche, a volunteer branch leader for the charity Cat Action Trust 1977, was making her regular rounds feeding feral cats in Garforth, a town outside Leeds, when one animal in the colony caught her attention.
