Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt and Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt have each filed court petitions in California to remove "Pitt" from their legal surnames, publishing the required name-change notices in the Los Angeles Daily Journal throughout June and July. Court hearings are scheduled for September, Maddox on the 14th, Zahara on the 28th, at which point a judge could finalize the change for both. The filings, first reported by the Daily Mail based on court documents it obtained , make Zahara and Maddox at least the third and fourth of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's six children to publicly distance themselves from the actor's surname.
