More than 1000 Airmen at the 104th Fighter Wing are ensuring compliance of a new Air Force body composition requirement ahead of the Aug. 31 deadline for the Guard and Reserves during their drill from Aug. 21-23 at Barnes Air National Guard Base.
Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson's strength and conditioning program was recently recognized as the 2025 Department of the Air Force Fitness and Sports Program of the Year for Region 2. The program enhances the operational readiness, lethality, and long-term health of Airmen and Soldiers through tailored fitness coaching and injury prevention.
The 137th SOW is getting ahead of the curve in support of the Culture of Fitness initiative by implementing and encouraging increased physical training. Airmen are participating in unit exercises, such as the workout of the day and the Diamond Fitness Challenge to remain a force that is organized, trained and equipped for mission support.
