Federal prosecutors want to overturn a magistrate judge’s decision to review reporter Hannah Natanson’s seized devices on behalf of the government and turn over information relevant to a leak investigation.
The Justice Department said it plans to appeal a judge’s decision that blocked the government from searching Post reporter Hannah Natanson’s electronic devices.
The FBI took reporter Hannah Natanson’s devices when searching her home last month.
The judge said the court itself would search the devices, which were seized from a Washington Post reporter’s home last month.
The ruling suggested that the federal judge in Virginia did not trust the government to conduct a narrow search of Hannah Natanson’s devices.
