Toyota is bringing more manufacturing muscle back to America, and President Trump is calling it exactly what it is: tariffs at work. The automaker announced a 3.6-billion-dollar expansion of its San Antonio, Texas, assembly plant, a major investment expected to create roughly 2,000 new jobs. The project will add a second vehicle assembly line and allow Toyota to build the Tacoma pickup in Texas alongside the Tundra and Sequoia. Tacoma production will gradually shift from Toyota’s Baja California plant in Mexico to San Antonio over the next four years. For Texas, this is another major manufacturing win.
