Tens of thousands of migrants overwhelmed Spain's tiny North African territory of Ceuta in a single day, and the political fallout is now rippling across Europe as governments rush to protect their own borders. Approximately 60,000 people crossed from Morocco into Ceuta within a 24-hour window, a number equal to roughly 70 percent of the Spanish enclave's entire population. At least 41 died in the attempt.
