Gunfire erupted at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at the Bite of Seattle, an annual food festival near the Space Needle that draws roughly 350,000 attendees each year. Two bystanders, Carlos Israel Sanchez Villalba, 44, a father of three, and Ashley Whitehead, 56, a mother of two, were killed.
