AMC Global Media and Netflix have struck a five-year, $500 million co-exclusive licensing deal covering every episode of "The Walking Dead" universe, a half-billion-dollar bet that a zombie franchise born on basic cable still has commercial life left in the streaming era. The agreement, reported by Variety , covers the original series and all six spinoffs, 371 episodes in total. Streaming under the new terms begins in 2027, with licenses for each show rolling out on different dates across different territories as existing deals expire.
