Los Angeles County Judge John Lonergan Jr., suspended the criminal case against Taele on Wednesday and sent him to mental health court in Hollywood based on statements he made in a pretrial evaluation indicating he wasn’t mentally fit to stand trial.
Jeanine John Taele was arrested after officials said he filmed security preparations ahead of President Trump’s visit and behaved suspiciously.
The 38-year-old man allegedly had a 16-round magazine with ammunition in his pocket. Police later recovered a loaded pistol in his car.
The revelation occurred just hours before the president is expected to speak at the golf course at a Republican National Committee fundraiser and roundtable. The arrest however, was made on Sunday.
The suspect was seen taking photos and videos of the Trump National Golf Course in Los Angeles County over the weekend, authorities said.
