President Trump will welcome more than 100 members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams to the White House on Thursday. The U.S. won a total of 33 medals in the 2026 Winter Olympics held in northern Italy in February, including 12 golds, 12 silvers and 9 bronzes — breaking the previous record, 28, of medals won at the Winter Games outside of North America, according to its website. The team also finished second overall in the Paralympic Games, also held in Italy, with 24 medals — 13 golds, 5 silvers and 6 bronzes. The president also invited the U.S. Men's Olympic hockey team to his State of the Union address earlier this year after the team beat Canada for the first time in nearly 50 years.
