The USS Nimitz’s first expeditionary facility dog has died unexpectedly and leaves behind a legacy that touched the hearts and minds of crew members.
Nimitz had previously been scheduled to retire once it arrived in Norfolk. The carrier will now be involved in training sailors and aviators.

Nimitz joins other U.S. Navy and Coast Guard ships, along with participants from 50 allied and partner nations.
