Her longtime partner said despite a recent Alzheimer's diagnosis, Elaine lived a full active life. The two would hike and dance multiple times a week, with friends describing Elaine as quick and agile. But on what was supposed to be a normal hike to celebrate a friend's birthday — the unthinkable happened.
