Under President Trump, the U.S. is now in a major trade war with Canada that could lead to price hikes for Americans with midterms approaching. After trade with Canada collapsed earlier this month, both countries hit each other with tariffs. 5-year-old Liam Tadeo and his father, Victor Martinez Nieto, have been deported to Mexico after being arrested by ICE in Texas earlier this month, according to the family’s attorney. In a video of their arrest that went viral, Liam is crying and holding on to Martinez Nieto’s hands, which are cuffed behind his back, as they are escorted into an ICE vehicle. The family’s attorney confirmed to MS NOW that Liam, who is not a U.S. citizen, and his father were deported together after being held at Dilley Detention Center. Martinez Nieto had asked DHS to allow his child to stay in the United States with his mother and start kindergarten, but the agency denied his request.
