A man in his 30s died early Friday morning in downtown Los Angeles after his car veered off Upper Grand Avenue and fell about 50 feet to the street below, and police still don't know what caused him to leave the road. The single-vehicle crash happened around 2:30 a.m. as the driver headed northbound on Upper Grand Avenue, a stretch of roadway elevated high above Lower Grand Avenue in the heart of downtown LA. The car left the roadway, dropped an estimated 40 to 50 feet, and overturned on the street below, the New York Post reported .
